I have a stock savage 25 and am having issues with the spur gear slipper clutch pad wearing prematurely. I have been installing it by fully tightening the nut and then backing it off by half a turn. What would be a good upgrade for this? Thanks.

Once you bottom out the nut back it off only 1/8 to a 1/4 turn. I have had the same problem and find that backing it off only an 1/8 of a turn works.
